Miami-based primary healthcare operator, ChenMed LLC, is adding two clinics for senior citizens in Orlando.
As a part of its expansion plan, the company is building medical centers in St. Louis, Memphis, and Cincinnati, all of which are major cities located outside Florida. Elderly patients in Miami will have access to healthcare facilities in Pine Hills as well as east Orlando, according to the market president of ChenMed LLC, Jason Barker.
Right now, the company is still negotiating its lease agreements for rental properties; expecting to occupy around 10,000-12,000 square feet per clinic, being able to house up to 2,500 patients at a time. Each primary doctor would be able to treat 400 patients and each location could create 30 new job openings for medical support staff.
ChenMed has made progress in growing its medical business for seniors age 65 and up. It already owns 59 locations in Florida. However, the company has yet to select a contractor to begin on-site construction. It is predicted that the senior citizen population will reach one million in the next five to ten years, increasing demand for outpatient care in Orlando.
These two clinics will be open to the public in the summer of 2020, with the intention to better serve senior citizens in Orlando. Primary care doctors can hand out Business Cards to their patients with appointment dates and times in advance.
