The Desai Foundation will host a special Holi celebration in Miami this March to celebrate the coming of spring as well as raise money for its mission of helping rural women in India.
The Desai Foundation is a nonprofit that works to improve the lives of women and girls in rural Indian through the creation of community programs and initiatives that improve access to health, vocational training, educational opportunities, and menstrual equity. Funds raised from the Miami Holi celebration will go towards supporting these integral programs.
Holi is the Hindu holiday of colors, spring, and love. It celebrates the divine love of the Hindu deities Krishna and Radha and signifies the end of winter and blossoming of spring. People often throw colorful powders on each other to celebrate. The Holi event in Miami will feature a special installation that will allow people to have fun with these colors while also not staining their clothing. There will also be colorful cocktails, an electrifying DJ, and delicious dinner to enjoy.
