The upcoming Miami Water Lantern Festival will be a bright, cheerful, event for the whole family as they celebrate with friends and neighbors, gathering together to decorate lanterns for a memorable experience.
These public festivals are also called light festivals, where people in Miami are encouraged to share their best memories with each other through crafting their own floating lanterns, inspired by traditional Chinese lanterns. On the peaceful lakeside, patrons will discover an incredible view as thousands of lanterns slowly drift away from shore. The soft light emitting from the lanterns will light up a path that reflects off the water.
To join in on the fun, patrons can purchase a ticket to receive a wristband for entry and have access to the food trucks. An adult ticket includes a floating lantern kit, a drawstring bag for supporting the lantern, a marker for drawing pictures, and an LED candle for the light source. These eco-friendly lanterns are composed of rice paper and wooden sticks that use recyclable LED candles. The cost will cover all clean-up activities, such as retrieving lanterns from the water or removing any leftover trash around the park.
The Miami Water Lantern Festival is proudly sponsored by Water.org and will take place on April 25, from 5:00 to 10:00 pm. Promotional Pens are appropriate for the occasion if arts and crafts are involved in the festivities.
