Miami gardening workshop to teach sprout growing

This September, Vizcaya Village in Miami will host the Sprout School: Learn to Grow Broccoli + Radish at Home event, which will be a family-friendly workshop aimed at helping people grow their own vegetables.

Vizcaya Village is a part of the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and was the working part of the large estate. It encompasses 11 architecturally significant buildings, including barns, workshops, greenhouses, fields, and a garage. This area frequently hosts outdoor events like this one, with farmers’ markets also making regular appearances.

The Sprout School workshop will be led by Tatiana Castro of Teachings by Tatiana, who is a science communicator that blends hands-on learning with cultural awareness. The workshop will teach attendees how to grow broccoli sprouts and radishes at home, with no experience necessary. Attendees will gain step-by-step advice on how to grow these sprouts and will even be able to take home a sprouting kit with materials included.

Even outdoor workshops like this may utilize printed teaching materials, such as Posters, to help attendees through the learning process. Local Print shops that offer poster printing can help organizers with the creation of these materials.

The sprout-growing workshop is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 14 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Vizcaya Village is located at 3250 S Miami Avenue. There is no cost to attend.
