Premedia Software has launched FixMyPrintFile to assist with the preflight and correction process for digital Print files. This Software as a Service (SaaS) solution will help printers in Miami and elsewhere whether they are engaged in banner printing, poster printing or printing digital Business Cards or Brochures. The web based service targets small and medium sized printing companies and publishers who need this type of assistance without the extensive costs that are the norm. Instead, FixMyPrintFile allows Print companies to use a pay as you go system, which means that printers and publishers can keep costs manageable while being able to improve workflow in the production area. With this service there is no need to purchase or maintain expensive software.
Premedia's Director of Product Development, Greg Firestone, comments: "Small and medium size publishers and printers have the same file issues as large publishers and printers – incorrect color spaces, 4-color black text, complex files that won’t RIP – but with fewer resources to get them fixed. FixMyPrintFile is a solution which provides powerful preflight and file correction capabilities but in a delivery and price model suitable for smaller companies."
The FixMyPrintFile solution allows printers to submit files via their web browser and it takes just a few minutes to generate PDFs ready for printing. The file is corrected automatically according to the job options selected by the user. Once it's ready, the file can be downloaded in a zip file, which also includes logs of the file Checks.
