A week-long summer camp aimed at supplying girls aged 7 to 17 with firsthand knowledge about our country's political system will be held in Miami this month.
Following girl-friendly lessons on how the United States government is structured, each young participant will select an office for which to run and mount her own political campaign.
Girls can choose to run for the United States House of Representatives, Senate, or for President. In the process of trying to gain office the girls create a campaign platform, make up their own campaign slogan, and draw up a campaign finance plan. They also come up with television advertisements for their campaign.
During this process the girls will, no doubt, come to realize the large part Print companies can play in a political campaign. Political pamphlets, Posters, and Flyers are just the beginning of what a Print company can contribute to a political race.
Campers register to vote and then cast their ballots in the Camp Congress election. Members elected to Congress learn about what goes into the writing of a bill, how to introduce it, and what goes into debating its merits. They also learn about the give and take of gathering votes for their fellow members of Congress. The Camp concludes when its Ms. President ceremoniously Signs the bill.
The cost of the camp is $425, and it runs daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, June 16 – June 20.Get a Free Quote for Signs Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Posters Get a Free Quote for Print
