Free training available on CPR Day Miami

Several institutions are coming together to host ‘CPR Day Miami’ this weekend. The training event will be free to the public, with participants being required to be at least 11 years old, and will be spread out over seven locations.

Back in February, the importance of CPR training became news when the city saw pictures of five-month-old Sebastian de la Cruz having CPR performed on him by his aunt, Pamela Rauseo. The child had stopped breathing while traveling in the car with Rauseo, who stopped the vehicle and provided the lifesaving maneuver along the edge of a busy Miami expressway.

Today, Sebastian, who was rushed to Holtz Children’s Hospital, lives a normal life again thanks to his aunt’s CPR training. However, according to the American Heart Association, only 30% of Americans are comfortable in performing CPR.

Sharing in the sponsorship of CPR Day Miami are the University of Miami, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and Jackson Health System. Organization such as these are no doubt aware of the important role Print companies can play in dispensing information and publicizing events.

CPR Day Miami is being held on September 6 at seven locations throughout the county. Each location will offer the training several times throughout the day from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Training sessions last about 90 minutes each.
