Diplomat Resort all decked out for the holidays

The Diplomat Resort and Spa, a South Florida beachfront convention center and vacation destination, has received attention for its holiday décor.

With close to 1,000 guest rooms and hundreds of thousands of feet of space however, employees at the resort admit that transforming the five-star Miami palace into a winter wonderland was no easy task.

A 22-foot Christmas tree, made out of 12,500 French macarons, is the first thing that greets guests as they enter The Diplomat’s lobby. Created by Henry Martignango, the resort’s Executive Pastry Chef, it’s the largest ever of its kind, and took weeks of preparation to put together. And while more traditional decorations, like nutcrackers, tinsel and ornaments can be found elsewhere, the sheer magnitude of the macaron tree conveys The Diplomat’s attention to detail.

To accompany the décor, there are several seasonal events going on as well. The resort is offering a Christmas morning buffet, which will include a bounty of breakfast items as well as traditional Christmas foods, and a number of holiday-inspired cocktails. The spa has special packages, gift cards, and coupons as well, which all come wrapped in custom printed Holiday Cards featuring scenes from around the hotel.
