Downtown Melbourne will hold its Putta Palooza in May for those who like playing mini golf.
The Putta Palooza is a family-friendly event where local shops can connect with the community by creating themed mini golf holes. Several stores will participate in this year's event, including Van Beers Bottle & Tap, Onyx Gifts and Books, and The Landing Roof Top. Golfers will receive a single golf ball, scorecard, and map of the course. Participants will also get to visit the Hotel Melby for a complimentary drink.
Many of the participating businesses in the Putta Palooza are part of Melbourne Main Street, Inc., a nonprofit organization interested in revitalizing Downtown Melbourne and enhancing its economic growth. A few of the organization's corporate partners and elite members will have mini golf courses at the event, such as Downtown Divas and CAMM'S Jewelry & Gifts. The cost of a basic membership to the group is $200 per year.
The Putta Palooza will be held on May 9th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Individual tickets to the event will cost $30 per person, and teams of four can register for $100. Guests can check into the event at 10:00 am at Matt's Casbah Patio, and the rewards ceremony will be at 2:00 pm.
