Discount grocery outlet open in Melbourne

Area residents interested in saving money on their grocery bill may find a new way to do just that, as a popular, no-frills grocery store has now opened in Melbourne.

Aldi, America’s fastest-growing grocer, has now opened a new location in Melbourne, its ninth new one in Brevard County. Known for lower prices, unique shopping carts, and an open container shopping experience, Aldi is finding resonance with thrift-minded shoppers.

The chain has a unique approach to grocery merchandising. Firstly, store aisles consist of pallets stacked with trays of canned goods, which decreases stocking time for Aldi staff. Shoppers must either bring their own bags or buy bags at the store, rather than have them provided. Lastly, Aldi often sells its own distinct food brands, which some shoppers regard at least as high in quality as well-known national brands.

This strategic approach to food merchandising results in lower costs to consumers. According to Matt Thon, regional vice president for Aldi, consumers may save up to 36% on grocery costs:

“At our new Melbourne ALDI store, shoppers will find that every decision we make—from our product selection to store layout—is designed to provide the best products at the lowest possible prices of any national grocer.”

The new Aldi store is located at 961 East Eau Gallie Boulevard in Melbourne. Banner printing is often used to highlight new business openings like this one. The store is open daily from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
