In January, Pet CPR and First Aid Certification and Fundraiser for Dog Safety Council, Inc., will be held in Lutz both to raise money for the council and to provide life-saving education to animal professionals and pet owners.
The Dog Safety Council, Inc., is an organization with the mission to improve dogs’ lives by making the world a safer place for them. This includes offering awareness programs, promoting safety guidelines for pet owners, and providing advocacy, resources, and community support to protect dogs on the roads, at home, and in public areas. The pet first aid certification event will double as a fundraiser for this organization and its efforts to improve dogs’ wellbeing.
Led by Pet Emergency Education, the class will teach attendees how to use a pet first aid kit, which will include first aid for poisoning, burns, wounds, choking, and other emergencies. Students will also learn how to perform emergency triage and how to take vital Signs, as well as how to perform PetCPR+. Attendees will receive access to an online guide or a printed one for an additional fee.
Classes that offer printed versions of their online resources may need to partner with local businesses offering robust printing services to maintain their supply.
The pet safety class and fundraiser is slated for Saturday, January 10 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It will be held at Courteous Canine, Inc., at 3414 Melissa Country Way, Lutz.
