The Central Park Performing Arts Center (CPPAC) in Largo Central Park is now opened. It has undergone several renovations to the west entrance and the east parking lot and has a new brick portico for outdoor events.
With these updates and changes, the CPPAC will begin its summer season in August with The Eight O’Clock Theatre performing “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” The Eight O’Clock Theatre is the residential theater troupe of CPPAC that performs in the Tonne Playhouse.
The show is a Tony Award-winning musical and is funny and fast paced with audience participation and a memorable score. It tells the story of six teens who are competing for the spelling championship of a lifetime. Humorous aspects arise from their many made-up words entwined with the touching stories of their lives. Printing services can be used to provide more details about the cast and songs in such shows.
The Tonne Playhouse is a state-of-the-art theater. It has retractable seating which allows for many styles of theater arrangements and complete technical services including staging, lighting, and custom sound.
Performances will be from Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9 and the following week Thursday, August 13 through Sunday. August 16. Shows are at 8:00 pm on Thursday through Saturday and at 2:00 pm on Sunday. Tickets are $28.50 with discounts for groups and students.
