A Silver Trailblazer Award from Chief Learning Officer magazine has been given to the city of Largo.
News of such awards and their significance for a city are often disseminated throughout a community with flyer printing.
This award was established in 2003 and honors learning executives who have demonstrated excellence in the design and delivery of development programs for employees. The Organizational Training and Development Manager of the city, Joe Malta, was recognized for his lead in the creation and implementation of Largo Learning. This is a flexible training initiative based on skills that aligns with the commitment of the city to advancing a high-performance organization and its focus on excellence in the organization.
Largo Learning was started last year and provides each member of the team with a customized learning plan that will develop important skills such as building trust, fostering teamwork, a growth mindset, and strategic focus. The program is able to provide continuous improvement in all departments as learning is integrated into leadership development and daily operations.
Assistant City Manager, Meridy Semones, said that Largo Learning shows how investing in team members can strengthen the entire organization. Semones added that this award confirms the commitment of the city to building an environment where its people feel empowered, supported, and able to deliver outstanding service to the community.
