Aerospace company invests in Largo

An amount of $26.5m is being invested by Collins Aerospace, a leader in intelligent and integrated solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry, for the expansion of its operations in Largo.

The money will be used to increase the production of its multidomain security solutions and aviation radars for defense customers.

Over 100 new jobs requiring skilled workers across factory operations and engineering will be created as a result of this expansion. Many such positions will most likely require business card printing, as professional cards are an essential and cost-effective tool for networking and promoting initiatives at community and organizational events.

The facility will be working on the Radar System Replacement Program run by the Federal Aviation Administration and will also include the production of a surveillance radar that can communicate directly with transponders in aircraft as well as a radar system that uses reflected signals to detect aircraft.

The president of Avionics at Collins Aerospace, Nate Boelkins, said:

“This expansion strengthens our ability to deliver critical capabilities that keep airline passengers safe and military operators mission-ready, faster.”

He added that RTX has been in the state for over 40 years and has over 7,000 employees in eight locations throughout Florida, demonstrating its noteworthy investments in operations and people across Florida, and highlighting the value it sees in this partnership.

The new facility is expected to become fully operational later this year.
