Sebastian S. Strom, MD, MBA, FACHE, has been named chief executive officer of HCA Florida Largo Hospital by the West Florida Division of HCA Healthcare. This is one of the largest health systems in the state.

Strom has been the chief medical officer of the division since July 2021. His experience has been in improving clinical processes while supporting the development of service lines and growth for health systems and hospitals. Strom worked previously at the South Atlantic Division of HCA Healthcare where he was also chief medical officer for 12 hospitals in South Carolina, Georgia, and north Florida.
Strom was born in Denmark and completed his medical degree at the University of Copenhagen. His residency was at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Internal Medicine and then became a Chief Resident before becoming a faculty member at the university. He also holds an MBA, which he earned from a joint program between London Business School and Columbia Business School.
President of HCA Healthcare West Florida Division, Ravi Chari, M.D., said that he has known Strom since their time at Vanderbilt and knows of his commitment to patients and the people and mission of HCA Healthcare. He expressed his thrill that Strom will be taking over this significant role at the hospital.
