The ground will be broken later this month on Longlake Preserve in Largo.
This project will be built by Habitat for Humanity and will create the development of 54 town homes. Habitat for Humanity is partnering with the city of Largo, Pinellas County, the state of Florida, and G2 Design. This project is part of the Advantage Pinellas Housing Compact, a partnership between Forward Pinellas, Pinellas County, and cities to create and preserve more homes that people of all income levels in the area can afford.
The goal of the project is to increase the availability of affordable housing in the area. Those who will be eligible for these homes will be those who earn at or below the median income in the area. More information about such eligibility and such homes can be made available with brochure printing.
The Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners had approved $2 million to support the development of this project on South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Habitat for Humanity owns the property. The state of Florida is providing $884,600 towards the project while the city of Largo is providing $469,000.
The groundbreaking will be on Wednesday December 20. Networking will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the official ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Featured at the event will be State Representative Kim Berfield and State Senator Ed Hooper, among other distinguished guests.
