An active listening workshop will be held in Lakeland next month, teaching skills that will be applicable in both business and personal settings. Anyone seeking to strengthen their personal relationships or motivate a team at work is invited to attend.
The Hear and Be Heard Active Listening Workshop will show how improving communication between partners, friends, and team members will strengthen relationships by building trust and understanding. Through increased connection and a willingness to be vulnerable, an ability to influence and empower others may manifest. This newfound power will allow attendees to accomplish personal goals, while still honoring the contributions made by others.
The event is organized by Build Consulting Services, and a Salesforce study the group references suggests that co-workers and team members are over four times more likely to exceed expectations when their thoughts and feelings have been understood.
This one-day interactive workshop will examine the different ways we communicate (written, verbal and non-verbal), how to effectively listening, how to resolve conflicts, and breathing exercises. Attendees will be guided through developing a personal action plan, learning to improve communication with work colleagues and staff members. Printing services may be used at such events to provide handouts for participants to take home.
The seminar will be held on Friday, June 18 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Hampton Inn and Suites Lakeland-South Polk Parkway, located at 3630 Lakeside Village Boulevard. A light breakfast will be included. Early Bird registration before May 28 is available on the Eventbrite website, for $179 per person. After May 28, tickets cost $229 each.
