An event will be held in Downtown Lakeland that welcomes May with a Latin-themed community party.
Uno de Mayo is a family-friendly event where people can enjoy an evening of themed activities at Lakeland’s Munn Park. The party is part of the community’s monthly First Friday series. The program is meant to be a playful twist on the holiday Cinco de Mayo and will feature activities such as a Makers Market and car show. There will also be Latin food trucks at the event, and those old enough to have alcohol can purchase adult beverages during the fiesta.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Lugo Entertainment. The company will play high-energy Latin hits and modern pop music throughout the celebration. Lugo Entertainment is a company created by Willie Lugo, an experienced DJ and event host who has been working for 20 years. The Uno de Mayo party will be held on Friday, May 1st from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There is no ticket cost to enter Munn Park for the event, and guests won’t need to register in advance. There will also be another First Friday event held on Friday, June 6th with the theme of Family Fun Night.
