Pig festival to be held in Lakeland

For the 25th time, the local barbecue festival titled the Lakeland PigFest will be held in January.

The festival has over 150 barbecue teams competing against each other. Patrons are invited to enjoy some food and music with their families.

Celebrating a quarter of a century, the aim of the event is to support the local charities in the Lakeland area. Each barbecue team supported represents one Lakeland charity cause.

The cost for entry is $5 for adults, while children under the age of 12 may enter free and there will be free parking available. After entry, patrons should exchange their dollars for 'Pigbucks', which is the official currency used throughout the event. There will be additional booths placed at various locations for the convenience of patrons. Banner printing can be an effect way for competitors at events like this to attract customers to their stand.

Interested persons can also donate to the cause by visiting the Lakeland PigFest website. In addition, anyone looking to participate in the event may register on the website. There are open spaces available for competitors, judges, and more.
