Pickling course to take place in Lakeland

A life skills course is coming to the Lakeland area next month, and DIYers and homesteaders are encouraged to attend and learn new skills.

The Pickle Party will begin in a few weeks, providing the ideal environment for aspiring DIYers to learn to harvest and pickle vegetables in their homes.

The course will focus on the steps needed to make quick pickles for family and friends to enjoy. Instructors will demonstrate how to pickle vegetables and herbs from the garden to create tasty treats.

The instructors will guide attendees toward using the best vegetables for pickling and the best time to harvest each vegetable to maximize the flavor. Attendees will also learn about the brines, flavoring agents, and spices to use to create different types of pickled vegetables.

The course is designed to accommodate all skill levels. The instructors aim to provide a hands-on learning experience to grow culinary skills and appetites. Brochure printing is an excellent way to share information for pickling at home after such events.

Each attendee will create a jar of fresh pickles to take home from the event, which will be held at Swan Brewing on Monday, May 20. The venue can be found at 115 West Pine Street in Lakeland, and will start at 6:00 PM.

Tickets are available online for $10 per attendee.
