Individuals interested in learning the art of making pickles will want to keep an open schedule next month, as a crafting course is in the works for Lakeland.
The Pickle Party crafting course has an official date in the Books, and area residents wanting to gain new experiences and wisdom are encouraged to come out and attend. The learning session will take participants through each phase of the pickle’s lifecycle, from cultivation and harvesting to cooking and pickling.
The instructors will provide an immersive learning experience for each student, while offering insights into the different spices participants can use to create different flavors and culinary experiences. Attendees will see the best vegetables to use and explore the essential components of pickling, including brines and seasonings. Each student will leave the course with a take-home jar of pickles produced at the workshop to share with friends and family, along with tips on how to continue pickling vegetables at home. This fun workshop is particularly aimed at individuals with beginner and intermediate experience.
Swan Brewing will host the learning session on Monday, November 18, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Interested parties can reserve a place online, and tickets cost $10 per attendee.
