A convention for reptiles and exotic pets will take place at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland in a few weeks.
Repticon travels around the United States and is one of the top exhibitions of exotics in the nation. Exotic pets include arachnids, insects, amphibians, and reptiles.
The educational convention features an array of owners, experts, breeders, and vendors interested in non-traditional pets. It is geared toward all ages and allows them to see animals they may never have thought of as pets, and possibly take one home with them. They can also buy supplies for their new pet such as food, habitat, and custom items. Business card printing helps vendors market their products and services for any convention guests that may not buy at the convention.
Vendors and breeders will host lectures about herpetology and topics related to exotics. Guests will learn about the history and care of specific exotics and participate in handling them at multiple vendor and breeder booths.
Single-day tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 5-12 years of age. Tickets for both days are $5 more for adults. VIP tickets $12 for adults, are valid for both days, and allow guests to enter the venue one hour early on Saturday. Children’s ticket prices remain the same, and those younger than five get in free.
The RP Funding Center is located at 701 West Lime Street. Repticon is on September 5 and 6, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.
