Lakeland hosts September job fair
Job hunting is never a fun task, but an employment fair is coming to Lakeland to ease that burden for area residents.
Level Up Lakeland has announced its Job & Resource Empowerment Fair, which will be held near the end of September. A local church will serve as host and provide refreshments for attendees, although several food vendors will also be present. Over 20 area employers are expected to be in attendance, with representatives from the healthcare, retail, trade, and staffing industries.
On-the-spot hiring is possible for those whose interests and qualifications match employer needs. Youth are not left out; they’ll have access to information on internships, trade school information, and college prep and obtain FAFSA application help. The event also features raffles for gift cards for gas and items. Lastly, staff will be on hand to assist those seeking a General Education Diploma (GED), help with resumes, provide legal aid, and offer special employment programs for veterans.
Job hunters are encouraged to bring multiple resume copies, dress in business attire, and present a positive attitude. This could be a great opportunity to obtain business cards for future reference.
