Lakeland hosts collectors showcase

The Collectorama Show will soon be coming back to RP Funding Center in Lakeland.

This is the 69th year of the collector showcase. Guests can find antiques, collections, and various types of currency such as coins. Dealers from the state and around the country attend to find and present great bargains.

Registration to the Collectorama organization is required, costing $3 for one person and $5 for groups. Officials will mail registrants their passes. Parking is free if drivers mention the showcase to the parking employee.

The day before the show opens to the public, it welcomes wholesale traders from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Dealers who do not have a table at the showcase must make a donation to the Florida Youth Villa for the amount of $25. The first and third days are especially for collectors or currency and medals. This year, the showcase will not be open on Sunday.

Each day, children under the age of 13 can grab as much money as they can with one hand from the Daily Dip Kids’ Bucket. Families can also catch a glimpse of the nation's past through the virtual museum.

Collectorama will take place in the Exhibit Hall of the RP Funding Center at 701 West Lime Street. The showcase is open November 19 and 20 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and November 21 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Showcase events often hand out promotional Pens for dealers to use for checks and bills of sale.
