A convention in its 10th year is headed to Lakeland in mid November for three days.
Free Play Florida is an event that focuses on showcasing the artistry, history, and science that is behind a variety of video games and some of the first computers. Pinball and arcade machines, as well as console games, will be available to play and learn about at the convention. It is organized by Byte Amusement Group Inc.
The term “Free Play” means that the game is able to be played with no need for tokens/coins, thanks to a setting within the machine it is on. Admission costs give attendees unlimited access to playing the available games through this method.
The Pinball Lounge has returned to the event to run a championship. There are several categories players can compete in. These include a Main Open Tournament, Women’s Open Tournament, Open Three Strikes Tournament, Classics Tournament, and Amateur Three Strikes Tournament. Qualifications for the Classics, Women’s, and Main tournaments will start prior to the event opening to the public on the first day. The other two will have players selected via a lottery drawing.
Vendors present will be selling artwork, trinkets, and games. Those selling items at conventions will frequently have one or more items which are Promotional Products, making it simpler for guests to find their company again later. Panels will also go on throughout the convention. Tickets range from $10 to $75. RP Funding Center is the venue. The hours are 4:00pm to 10:00pm on November 17th, 10:00am to 10:00pm on November 18th, and 10:00am to 4:00pm on November 19th.
