Education and sales for Lakeland businesses in November

Two events are happening in Lakeland on the same day next week.

The Polk County Procurement Division will present an educational workshop in its conference room, which is located at 33 West Church Street Room 150 in Bartow.

Titled ‘How to do Business with Polk County’, the workshop occurs each month on the third Thursday, and is geared toward businesses who want to work with the county. It will detail the procedure of bidding step by step. This month, it will be on Thursday, November 21 at 9:00 am. The workshop is free and vendors can reserve a spot online. Attendees may want to take along their Business Cards for some networking at the same time.

On the same day, from 5:00 pm until 8:30 pm, will be Savor the Season: Sip and Shop. This is the first of what is planned to be an annual event. Stores in the downtown area will stay open for the event and will offer multiple sales and specials at restaurants. Live bands will perform music at street level in multiple locations.

Attendees can win a $50 gift card or a shopping spree for the holidays, with more opportunities to win the more they shop. Universal pick-up and valet parking will be available at no charge, but tips will be accepted. The valet will be on Lemon Street and Main Street between Tennessee Avenue and Kentucky Avenue and can pick up shoppers at any location in the downtown area.
