JTC Running and 1st Place Running will be holding its 4th Annual Vystar Emerald Trail 5k and 10k events at the end of September.
Walkers, runners, and cyclists will be traveling to Riverside Arts Market along the Northbank Riverwalk. Those running and biking the 10k will continue their routes to San Marco over the shared use path. The start/finish line will be near the intersection of Adams and Pearl Streets.
Registration for the 5k, 10k, and bike rides will be $40, and $50 on race day. Those under 13 and over 65 may register for $30, and $40 on race day.
All participants will receive T-Shirts sporting the Emerald Trail graphic design, finisher medals, chip timing for the walk/run, and activities before and after the race. The run/walk events will begin at 7:30 am with the bike rides starting at 9:00 am.
All proceeds will go to restore Hogans Creek and McCoys Creek and to build the urban Emerald Trail. Spanning 30 miles, the trail is a linear system connecting downtown Jacksonville to 14 neighborhoods, the two creeks, and the St. Johns River. It will also link two colleges, 16 schools, and over 20 parks, along with festivals, shops, and cafes.
The event will take place at the Duval County Courthouse on West Adams Street on Saturday, September 30th.
