Runners in the Jacksonville area will be participating in this year's Gate River Run 15k coming in early March. The well-known challenge has been taking place since 1994.
From 11:00am to 6:00pm on March 5, the Runners’ Expo will open at the event's new location Jax Shipyards, at which time runners may pick up their race packets. On March 6, the expo will run from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Packets may also be available on race day from 6:30am to race time.
The Gate River Run 15k will begin at 8:00am on March 7, four blocks east of Main Street Bridge at Jax Shipyards on East Bay Street, and will be using a four-wave format. The Synovus 5k for Charity will be at 8:45am that day at the same location. The Brooks Rehabilitation Challenge Mile at 10:00am, the Junior River run beginning at 11:00am, and the Diaper Dash also at 11:00am will all be at the Shipyards.
Registration for the 15k will be $55, or $40 for the 5k. Swag will include finish medals for the 15k, 5k and mile, race shirts, a Publix Post-Race Celebration and access to community partners and vendors at the three-day expo.
Large running events like this need to get event shirts printed at local Print shops well beforehand to be sure there will be enough shirts available.
