Jazz festival returns to Jacksonville

Jacksonville Jazz Festival 2026 will be coming to downtown Jacksonville toward the end of May.

The festivities will begin with the Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition where five piano finalists will be competing for a substantial cash prize and a chance to perform on the main stage at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival.

This year's Jacksonville Piano Competition will take place at the Florida Theatre, 128 E. Forsyth Street, starting at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 21st.

On Friday the festivities will change venues and will take place at Ford on Bay. Artists to perform on that evening will be Funk legends George Clinton & Parliament - Funkadelic, Ghost-note a percussive, groove-heavy collective, Butcher Brown playing funk, hip hop and genre-blending jazz-fusion. Jacksonville native drummer, John Lumpkin II will end the evening.

Saturday, the main stage will feature a Grammy winning vocalist, and multi-Grammy winning bassist, a Brazilian jazz pianist and a smooth jazz flutist. Sunday, fans will be treated to festival headliner Nile Rodgers & Chic, spiritual jazz ensemble Kamasi Washington, New Orleans funk Galactic, soul vocalist Anjelika "Jelly" Joseph and neo-soul Moonchild.

Admission will be free.
