Jacksonville Zoo goes "Boo"

The Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Garden's 38th Annual Spooktacular will be coming in early October.

Eight candy and toy stations will be located around the venue, and the Great Lawn will feature carnival games, photo opportunities DJs and Halloween-themed crafts. Themed experiences will include Dungeon of Bats, Spider's Den, and Marigolds and Monarchs Celebration.

Riverview Gardens will have their annual chilling Lost Swamp, and eerie domain where the more daring of us will encounter terrifying forest creatures. This experience is recommended for guests 13 years old and older.

Costumes encouraged.

Member tickets will be $20 or $25 Sunday and Thursdays, $30 or $35 on Friday and Saturday and children 2 years old and younger will be free. Tickets for non-member will go up $5.

Spooktacular Combo tickets range from $30 to $50 and include a 3:00 PM entrance where ticket holders may explore zoo areas not open during the Spooktacular. A Spooktacular pre-party will begin at 5:00 pm in the Range of the Jaguar area. This will include music and access to the Jaguars exhibit and the Emerald Forest Aviary.

Stationery printers often use pictures taken of exhibits at events like this for their Halloween cards.

Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens Spooktacular will open October 4th and run from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm at 370 Zoo Parkway. Other dates will be October 10-12, 16-19, 23-26 and 30-31.
