October is a great month for Jacksonville runners, with two events offering food and drink swag.
The second annual Mister Softee chip-timed 5k and 10k will have Oreos and ice cream. Also, Legacy Ale Works Jacksonville is presenting an Oktoberfest 2.5-mile run. Swag will include a beer or soft drink and Wawa soft pretzel at the finish line.
The Mister Softee 5k and 10k will cost $35, while the one-mile fun run will be $30. Tank tops race shirts sporting the Mr. Softee graphic design, finisher medals, and finisher photo will also be included in racer swag. Awards will go to male and female winners in each of nine age groups.
The 10k starts at 8:00 am and the 5k five minutes later on Saturday, October 1st at eTown’s Recharge Amenity Center 10571, eTown Parkway.
Participants in the Oktoberfest 2.5-mile run are encouraged to attend the chip-timed race dressed in traditional German garb such as lederhosen. The best dressed runner will receive an Oktoberfest stein. Free crowlers (32-ounce pressurized aluminum beer-filled steamed cans) will go to the top male and female finishers.
Other swag will include Florida Race Day Beer Coozis and finisher medals. An after-party will be at the Legacy Ale Works. Registration will be $30.
This event will take place beginning at 6:00 pm on October 28th at Legacy Ale Works, 14965 Old St. Augustine Road, Ste 120.
