The Jacksonville Florida Chapter of the ALS Association will be holding a Walk to Defeat ALS event in a couple of weeks.
New this year, the walk will actually be a Car Parade of Hope. Participants may either participate in the one-mile parade in their vehicles or cheer parade entries on as spectators along the route.
Teams are encouraged to register. Most teams start with self-donations to get their fundraising started. Once they raise $50 they will receive Team Captain Kits containing ideas to help in the team further their fundraising efforts.
Individuals raising $100 or more will receive Official Walk to Defeat ALS tee-shirts sporting this year’s graphic design.
All participants can get fundraising tools at the event’s website. These include a walker handbook, pledge sheet, deposit slip, and Facebook fundraiser information.
Donations can be made online in support of participating individuals or teams or by donating general or Corporate Gifts directly to the Jacksonville Walk.
The walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 17th at SevenBridges Grill Tinseltown, 9735 Gate Parkway. Check in time will be 8:30 am and the parade will begin at 9:30 am.
For golfers wishing to continue their fundraising efforts for ALS, there will be a Ring of Honor ALS Golf Classic May 10th at The King & Bear at World Golf Village in St. Augustine. Tee Time will be 10:00 am.
