Florida Capital Bank will be presenting the second annual Hope Starts Here 5k Run/Walk, which has been scheduled for the latter part of May.
The course will be a jaunt through Jacksonville history and will include running on the Emerald Trail. The race will begin and end at Operation New Hope building, 1830 N. Main Stret.
Proceeds will go to providing mental health services, workforce training, and job placements for those who have been affected by Jacksonville’s criminal justice system.
Strings Sports Brewery will host a Hope Starts Here 5k Breakfast and Brews after the race. Entertainment will include games such as darts and hoops.
Along with T-Shirts featuring the event’s graphic design, finishers in each race will receive custom-designed finisher medals.
The 5k will cost $35 until May 1, when registration will go up to $40. The race will cost $50 on race day. A 1-Mile Fun Run will cost $15 until May 1, and $20 from then until race day, when entry will cost $25. The 1-Mile Fun Run will start at 8:30 am, with the 5k following at 9:00 am.
All four sponsorship levels ($200 Spark, $500 Hope, $1,000 Inspire, and $2,000 Transform) will have their Logo Design and name on racing shirts, and the opportunity to put company Promotional Products such as promotional Pens in the racer Bags.
The Hope Starts Here 5k will be Saturday, May 20.
