Jacksonville health and fitness enthusiasts will be lacing up their tennis shoes for races in March.
On Saturday, March 14, teams will be participating in the Great Amazing Race here in Jacksonville. Each two-person team will compete against similar-aged pairs in running a 1.5-mile course dotted with task stations. Each station will have a task that one or both team members must complete before continuing on. The race is open to runners, joggers, or walkers ages 4 to 84.
Two courses will be available. One will be difficult and suited to active teams and adults, while the other is geared for teams out to have leisurely fun and for kids. The course will take about an hour to complete.
On Saturday, March 21, The Wildlight 5K 2020 and 1-mile Fun Run will offer more traditional runs. The 5k costs $20 and will begin at 5:00 pm at Jacksonville Beach StoryCenter. Participants will receive T-Shirts sporting the event’s graphic design. This will be an opportunity to enjoy Wildlight’s new trails, take part in wall climbing, get some face painting done, and enjoy food from local food trucks. Florida’s own platinum-selling artists, Sister Hazel, will end the event.
March 28 sees the Chick-Fil-A Chicken Biscuit Run 5K begin at 8:00 am at 14020 Lunar Drive. A mile run will begin at 9:00 am. The top three 5K female and male finishers will receive Chick-Fil-A for a year. Awards will be given to top three finishers in each of 16 age divisions.
