Jacksonville runs go virtual
For Jacksonville runners who prefer to run their own races, at their preferred locations, at their own pace, some Jacksonville races are going online this summer.
Summer Run for the Bling will be a June virtual run that can be done on a professionally designed course or on the runner’s choice location. The run is designed for a 5K, 10K or Half Marathon (3.1 miles). Runners sign up online, run their courses and upload their result, photos, and stories to the event’s website.
Swag will include running shirts with this year’s logo design, three-inch runners’ medals, runners’ goodies and customizable bibs that can be downloaded. This run is free for those not wanting swag. Full swag packets for the 5K will cost $33 and for the 10K and Half Marathon $35. This swag will be sent to the participants’ homes.

Another virtual run will be the Heroes VS Villains Virtual 5K. Registration will be $10 and this will include event bibs, Superhero capes and finishers medals. Participants can opt to just run for fun or raise money for their favorite charities.
Capes can be obtained at SuperflyKids.com. Superhero socks, mugs, tees and running shirts sporting the SuperHero graphic design can also be purchased.
Proceeds will go to fund the Superfly Children’s Foundation. The Heroes VS Villains Virtual 5k will take place Saturday, June 27th.
