Jacksonville: dogs invited to summer event

Formerly known as Tails and Trails, Dogtopia of Jax Beach Boulevard will be sponsoring its annual dog event now known as Dog Days of Summer, in early July.

Well-mannered dogs and their owners are invited to a four-hour celebration of all things dog related. This will include a dog-themed market with local vendors selling everything needed to keep our furry friends happy and healthy. Live music will be provided, and guests may purchase tickets for raffle prizes. Food trucks will have something for both dogs and humans.

The Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens has organized this event to highlight its trails created just for dogs, so guests are encouraged to take their pets on a stroll along some of venue's dog-friendly trails.

Although tickets will be free, there will be a $3 charge for parking.

Organizations that present events like this usually have a photographer taking pictures during the fun. These pictures are then taken nearby Print shops to be added to their organization's visitor guide brochure printing.

The event is still looking for volunteers to help set up from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm, help with event operations such as greeting, raffle prizes and trash clean-up from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm, and breakdown from 7:45 pm to 9:00 pm.

Dog Days of Summer will take place Saturday, July 6th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, 1445 Millcoe Road.
