Local producer Jason Woods has created a Jacksonville Christmas Specular, which will be shown in early December.
The holiday feast will be comprised of three Christmas stories featuring heartwarming story lines, comical characters, and a few holiday surprises.
Alice in a Christmas Wonderland will have Alice returning to Wonderland to save both Christmas and the White Rabbit’s ears. In the story, music and words are missing for the Queen’s solo at her upcoming party and heads will roll if they are not found.
The second story, The Little Toy Shoppe, will be about four leftover toys in a broken-down abandoned shop waiting to be chosen by children.
The last presentation will be The Legend of St. Nick. Here, woodsman Nickolas and his trusty dog Stella rescue a fairy from Jack Frost and inadvertently ignite the Wicked Winter Witch’s fury.
The Jacksonville Jaguars Drumline will be there, showing off its percussive talent. The opening night’s guest emcee will be Mayor Donna Deegan.
Tickets run from $55 to $75. VIP tickets include special seating, a meet-and-greet with Stella, a signed copy of Jason Wood’s book, and Queen of Hearts sunglasses. The Ultimate VIP ticket holders will receive all the amenities of the VIP tickets plus an exclusive Christmas ornament sporting a Christmas Spectacular graphic design.
The Jacksonville Christmas Spectacular will be presented at the Ritz Theater on Saturday, December 2 at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm, and again on Sunday, December 3rd at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm.
