Over 300 boats will be participating for a week in this year’s 40th anniversary of Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament. Proceeds go to local charities through Jacksonville Marine Charities, Inc.
At the General Tournament from July 16 through 17, boats will check out at Bartlett Boat Ramp, Fernandina, Mayport, and Porpoise Point, St. Augustine. Cash awards will be given to the first 10 places in aggregate, single engine, lady angler, and large fish divisions.
A High Roller Tournament will be limited to 40 entries with fees of $1,000. Winner gets $10,000 cash and a Rolex watch. Second place will receive $5,000 and third place will get $2,500.
A Junior Angler Offshore Tournament will be Tuesday, July 14. In total 25 prizes will be awarded. A Junior Angler Fish Florida Seminar will be Saturday, July 18 and runs from 2:00 pm unit 3:00 pm.
Sister Creek Marina will hold a Kids Dock Fishing Tournament on July 14 from 9:30 am until 11:30 am. Participants will receive T-Shirts featuring the event Logo Design, captain’s bag and a hot dog lunch. Prizes will go to the first, second and third place winners.
The Redfish Tournament will be July 11 beginning at safe light at Jim King Park and Boat Ramp. Prizes will be awarded for the top five winners in the weight classes and spots categories for both boat and kayak divisions at 3:00 pm.
