About 25,000 participants plus visitors are expected to descend on the Jacksonville Fairgrounds early in March for the annual Gate River Run.
The race will have a 15k, a 5k for charity, a one-mile Brooks Rehabilitation Run, a Junior River Run, and a Diaper Dash.
Registration for the 15k will be $60 until February 28 and $70 from March 1 until March 3. Meanwhile, 5k reservations will be $40 until February 28 and $50 from March 1 through March 3. Participation in the 1-mile Junior River Run will be free for kids under 13 years of age.
All participants for the 15k are to arrive at the staging area before 8:00 am to be assigned to their waves and receive their technical moisture-wicking shirts featuring this year’s Logo Design. Finishers will get their medals at the finish line.
The top 25 seeded women will start their race at 7:54 am. Participants will be assigned different colored bibs, with black, orange, green, red and blue bibs starting in Wave One at 8:00 am. They will be followed by the grey bibs in Wave Two. Wave Three will be runners wearing purple bibs and they will leave the starting line at 8:10 am, followed by those wearing pink bibs in Wave Four at 8:15 am. Walkers are to line up the back.
Brooks Rehabilitation Challenge Mile will begin at 10:00 am, and the Junior River Run and Diaper Dash will begin at 11:00 am.
Gate River Run will be Saturday, March 4 and Jacksonville Fairgrounds, Fairgrounds Place.
