Downtown Jacksonville to get jazzed up

The 49th three-day annual Jacksonville Jazz Festival will be held downtown at the end of May.

Five finalists – Rafael Zaldivar, Seth Finch, Jason Yeager, Jordan Williams, and David Caldwell-Mason – will be vying for cash prizes.

Festival performers on Friday will include Herbie Hancock, the Christian Sands Trio, The United States Air Force Airmen of Note, and Jazzmeia Horn. Saturday night attendees will get to enjoy the Emmet Cohen Trio, George Benson, and the John Lumpkin Trio. Sunday the performers will include Patti LaBelle, Mindi Abair, David Sanchez Carib, and Robert Glasper.

Although festival admission will be free, single day seating will be $89 and will include reserved padded seats situated close to the two stages, private restrooms, air conditioning, and private bar.

VIP full festival experience tickets are $499. They include wristbands loaded with quick entry passes to the VIP lounge, $150 beverage and food credits, padded seats, and dedicated VIP bars.
