Summer learning announced for Hollywood area children

Kids in Hollywood can continue learning science during summer vacation, as a local partnership is bringing a fun STEM educational experience to area residents.

The Museum of Discovery and Science and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital have teamed up to present Animal Adventures as a summer learning experience for kids. Aimed at youngsters from ages 5-10, the camp features several immersive learning experiences surrounding everything that slithers, crawls, jumps, or scurries underfoot. Children will explore such topics as how gills work, how animals build habitats, and fascinating insects. The week will end with Animal Field Day, a fun outing in which participants can show off how much they’ve learned.

According to its website:

“the mission of the Museum of Discovery and Science is “connecting people to inspiring science.”

Its focus on summer STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities for area students provides robust opportunity for young scientists to extend their school-year learning.

The camp will occur from Monday, July 14, through Friday, July 18. Camp hours are 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily. The venue is the Museum of Discovery and Science, located at 401 Southwest 2nd Street in Fort Lauderdale. The fee for the camp is $300 for museum members and $350 for non-members. After-hours care is available for an additional fee. Organizers of events such as this one can use Print shops for brochure printing or other Graphic Design Services to create publicity.
