Major comedy star coming to Hollywood

One of the biggest names in entertainment will be appearing in Hollywood soon.

Jerry Seinfeld is on tour, bringing his comedy and quick wit to audiences throughout the United States. The Brooklyn-born funnyman’s television show “Seinfeld,” which he co-wrote with Larry David, was a semi-fictional look at his own life. The program ran on NBC for almost 10 years, and by the time it began its fourth season, it was American television's most-watched sitcom.

Seinfeld is known for his skill at what is called “observational comedy,” in which the comedian uses his observations of everyday life as a basis for his or her material. Successful observational comedy works best when the experience discussed by the comedian is universal, but has largely gone unnoticed. Seinfeld's entire television show was based on his observations of his own life. In 2005, Seinfeld was named the “12th Greatest Stand-up Comedian of All Time" by Comedy Central. He continues to write, produce, and perform.

A review of a Seinfeld performance in London says that his skill as an observational comic has “spawned a thousand imitators,” but they can't match Seinfeld, who executed observational comedy:

“…with perfect mastery by a man whose performing powers seem undiminished at a hard-to-credit 65.”

Jerry Seinfeld will appear at Hollywood's Hardrock Live on February 22, at 8:00 pm. Programs are often made available for this sort of event, produced by brochure printers.
