The O'Jays formed in Canton, Ohio, in 1958, and first hit the charts in 1963 with their song “Lonely Drifter.” Two of the original five founding members, Eddie Levert and Walter Williams, Senior, are still with the group. The third member of the O'Jays, which is now a trio, is Eric Nolan Grant.
The group had a hit in 1972 with “Back Stabbers,” and the next year their song “Love Train” went to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 list. The O'Jays had many hits from the 1970s through the 1990s, with several singles and albums going gold, and the albums “So Full of Love,” “Identify Yourself,” “Family Reunion” and “Ship Ahoy” all going platinum, and the group has a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
A review of the O'Jays in concert said they
“…put on an electrifying concert. The rapport established with the audience was immediate from the moment they stepped onto the stage until the moment they left.”
The O'Jays will be appearing at the Miramar Cultural Center at 7:30 pm on March 20, and 2:00 pm on March 21. The venue is less than 20 minutes from Hollywood, and tickets are on sale now. Poster printing can provide colorful advertising for this type of event.
