One of the most influential and original bands in the history of rock is on the way, and the concert is sure to sell out.
The Who are bringing their “Moving On” tour to the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood for one performance, before going on to the New Orleans Jazz Festival.
The tour features two of The Who's founding members, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend. The lineup also includes Loren Gold on keyboard, Jon Button on bass, and Zak Starkey handling the drums. The Moving On tour has been extended by The Who due to increased demand.
Daltrey and Townshend, along with John Entwhistle and Keith Moon, founded The Who in London, in 1964. Worldwide, the group has sold over 100 million records, and is considered one of the most innovative and influential rock bands ever to perform. In particular, The Who, especially Townshend, is credited with developing the musical event known as the rock opera. The Who's first such effort, “Tommy,” sold approximately 20 million Copies, and going on to inspire a feature film.
Even after 50 years in show business, reviews say The Who are as good as ever. One concert-goer put it succinctly:
“I've never heard their singing and playing sound better.”
The Who will appear at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood on April 21, at 8:00 pm, although checking for updates is recommended in light of the coronavirous crisis. Poster printing can provide colorful advertising for this type of event.
