Art and culture center lines up creative classes

The spring semester of programs for children and teenagers has recently been announced by the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, and will run on schooldays after class.

The offerings include a Teen Actors’ Drama Workshop Series that will consist of improvisation, advanced acting, and performing for film and screen. Guest instructors, some of whom are working actors and directors, will lead the individual programs.

According to education manager, Kate McCarthy Draizin, this program was a result of older students requesting something more substantial and challenging.

Another special program for teenagers is the Teen Arts Ambassador program, which promotes strong leadership skills and prepares youth between the ages of 14 and 18 for college and careers. The program meets twice a month – in one meeting the students work on projects to help develop their problem solving abilities and social skills, while the other will include field trips to venues like artist studios, local government centers, and college campuses.

For younger children, ARTastic Collaborations is being offered for children in kindergarten to third grade and will feature lessons in visual and performing arts, including music, drama, painting, drawing, storytelling, and mixed media.

The Art and Culture Center has these many other courses to offer for adults and teachers, and so has no doubt utilized brochure printers to make handouts to inform the community of its work.
