An intriguing event is scheduled that will give members of a local women’s club a day of fun.
Members of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Hialeah will be going to tour the Everglades on an Airboat, as well as attending animal shows. GFWC is the acronym for General Federation of Women’s Clubs, which is a national organization. The Hialeah chapter was founded in 1922, with the goal of establishing a library, which they did in 1925.
The day gets started at the Westland Promenade parking lot, where the tour guide will meet the group with transportation. On the way to the Everglades, the guide will discuss the area’s history and the importance of this national park to the history and future of the region.
Once the group arrives, they will enjoy an Airboat tour of the park, watch a show featuring wild animals (the show includes alligator wrestling), and view other local animals and hear about them. The trip back to Hialeah will give tour participants a chance to network and learn about each other’s interests.
The day is a fundraiser on behalf of the Sabrina Cohen Foundation, an organization providing disabled persons with adaptive experiences, which include trips to the beach and ocean for wheelchair users.
The Everglades tour is scheduled for November 4, starting at 9.00am. The organizer has promised to provide tour members with detailed maps, which it can provide by using flyer printing.
