An upcoming event in Hialeah is free for anyone who wants to celebrate just being a kid.
The Miami Dade College Hialeah Campus is the host of the Kids and Family Festival. The festival takes place indoors and features giveaways, arts and crafts, a special area for children to play, and a live performance courtesy of the Hip Hop Kidz.
The Hip Hop Kidz dance program has been in business for nearly 30 years. Suzy Stone founded the program in 1994 in South Florida, and it has since grown to become one of the most successful and well-known programs of its type in the world.
People who arrive early will be able to receive a free T-shirt, and have a Back-To-School Kid Portrait created without charge, as long as supplies last.
The indoor expo area is geared towards parents, who will find options for daycare, aftercare, birthday planning, and after-school sports.
Organizers note there is still room for additional vendors, so anyone who is interested in showcasing their products or services to the community still has time to sign up. Proceeds from the festival are earmarked for the “I AM MDC DAY” Scholarship drive, which is used to provide financial assistance to students at the college.
The festival starts at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 26, at the Miami Dade College Hialeah campus at 1780 W. 49th Street in Hialeah. Organizers of events such as this can promote them by using poster printing to create advertising.
