Hialeah will be celebrating the 4th of July with an event that has won awards.
Hialeah Park is presenting the upcoming Independence Day Celebration, hosted by the City of Hialeah. The Florida Festivals & Events Association has given multiple awards to Hialeah’s party, which draws more than 18,000 attendees from throughout South Florida.
Live music this year includes Marlon Fernandez, Ricky Valido, and Lenier, along with DJ YUS and DJ A10. Marlon Fernandez was born in Cuba and formed his first band when he was 14. He moved to Miami in 2003, and released “Mi Sueño,” his debut album, in 2006. He is the winner of the 2005 season of “Objetivo Fama.”
Ricky Valido is a Hialeah resident who is making a name for himself with his “outlaw” country music. He averages about 200 live shows annually, and is enjoying an increasingly large fan base. He has shared the stage with artists like Sammy Kershaw and The Gatlin Brothers.
Composer and singer Lenier (Álvaro Lenier Mesa) is originally from Cuba, but came to Miami when he was 15. He listened closely to other artists and was inspired to create his own music. He found work as a backing singer for Jacob Forever, and his career was underway.
The fireworks are presented courtesy of Sedano’s Supermarkets. The event takes place at Milander Park, from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Organizers of events like this often use festive Banners, which they can obtain using banner printing, as decorations.
