An upcoming event will honor local athletes.
The Hialeah Hurricanes are inviting the community to the First Annual Dinner and Award Ceremony. The event honors Football divisions 12U and 13U, and Cheer divisions 11U and 13U. As the categories indicate, both cheerleaders and football players will be honored.
Event organizers have suggestions for appropriate dress for the evening. The key is to dress comfortably but nicely, with appropriate dress for boys being nice pants with a collared shirt; khaki pants with a polo shirt; and either clean sneakers or dress shoes. Girls might consider wearing nice skirts and blouses, or dresses; a stylish blouse with dress pants; and as always, either clean sneakers or flats.
The Hialeah Hurricanes play football, but they treat the sport somewhat differently from other organizations. They go beyond just trying to win a game to spending time with the youngsters teaching them about the game itself. The organizers emphasize learning to work as a team rather than playing as individuals. The Hurricanes don’t put an emphasis on “superstars” or play favorites. Players are put into the contest on game day if they have earned the right to play, which ensures that everyone has a chance to compete.
The dinner is scheduled for December 11, from 7.00 pm until 9.00 pm, at the Milander Center for Arts and Entertainment in Hialeah. When organizers plan events like this, they may use poster printing to create advertising.
