An experimental rock band from Down Under will soon be rocking the SpacePark in Miami, a short distance from Hialeah.
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard is from Melbourne, Australia, and first got together in 2010. They are known for their wide range of material, their high-energy performances, and their staggering discography, which to date includes 20 studio albums, three EPs, two official live albums, 10 bootleg live albums, and two bootleg compilation albums. They have also dropped more than 50 singles, and 55 music videos.
Their versatility can be seen in their output. Their second album, “Eyes Like the Sky,” is described as a “psychedelic spaghetti western.” In 2015, the band incorporated progressive rock and jazz fusion in their album “Quarters!,” and six months later dropped “Paper Mâché Dream Balloon,” a folk-inspired, largely acoustic effort. Their 2016 album “Nonagon Infinity,” which offers nine interconnected tracks, won the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album.
A review says:
“King Giz & The Liz Wiz are the biz. Live on stage, they deliver their jams, thrashes and meanderings in a show that surfs through their far-beyond-eclectic back catalogue in style.”
Also appearing at this event is Jess Cornelius. The band is so popular a second show has been added. King Gizzard will appear June 18 and 19 at 7.00 pm. SpacePark is on NE 61st Street in Miami.
